Inclusive Climate & Environmental Justice
At Elevate Her, we believe climate justice is disability justice. Women and girls with disabilities, and the caregivers of children with disabilities, are among the hardest hit by floods, water scarcity, and poor waste management in rural and informal settlements, yet they are rarely at the table when climate decisions are made. Our Climate and environmental Justice work, under the Funding Fairer Futures project, exists to change that.
Grounded in the UNCRPD, we work to strengthen the capacity of women with disabilities and caregivers to actively shape disability-inclusive climate action in their own communities. Through trainings, rights-based forums, and hands-on adaptation activities, we build knowledge on climate risks, resilience, and inclusive environmental practices, while pushing local duty bearers to bring disability inclusion into community-level climate planning.
Our focus areas:
Capacity Building Workshops:
Climate Resilience Training:
Disability-Inclusive Climate Response:
Practical Adaptation Activities:
Green Livelihoods:
Community Climate Advocacy:
Through this work, we are building climate resilience that is equitable, sustainable, and inclusive led by the very women and caregivers who understand the risks best.
